There is a before and an after. A marriage proposal lasts a few seconds, yet it is remembered for a lifetime: the light, the silence, the first word. On the Côte d'Azur, nature offers settings that no scenography could ever equal. Our role is to make them possible, in secret.
Before the venue, the person.
A beautiful marriage proposal does not begin with a setting. It begins with a simple question: who is she, or he, to whom the question is being asked? Does she love the sea or the mountains, silence or celebration, absolute privacy or the presence of her loved ones? Does he dream of a grand gesture, or a moment that no one else will ever know? The most beautiful proposals we have organized all shared one common thread: they reflected the couple. That is why the Côte d'Azur is such a rare canvas. Within just a few kilometers, from Saint-Tropez to Monaco, it brings together every backdrop: wild islands, hilltop villages, secret headlands, and the sea as far as the eye can see.

Our Favorite Venues
- 01
The Lérins Islands.
Off the coast of Cannes, Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat offer coves, pines, and silence. On Sainte-Marguerite, the forest slopes down to the rocks where the water turns crystal-clear. Saint-Honorat, smaller, has for centuries belonged to a community of monks, its vineyards, and its quietude. A late-afternoon arrival by private boat, a table set facing the sea, the sun slowly setting over the Esterel: it is one of the purest settings on the coast.

- 01
The Gardens of Èze.
Perched high above the Mediterranean, they offer one of the coast’s most spectacular views, in the early morning before visitors arrive, where possible. The village, with its stone alleyways and vaulted passages, creates a fairytale setting. At sunset, from the terrace of a hotel in the village, the view stretches across the entire Riviera, reaching as far as Italy on a clear day.
Cap-Ferrat.
A coastal path, a private villa, a garden of a thousand scents: the cape lends itself to intimate and luminous proposals. Behind its hedges and gates lie some of the most beautiful properties in the Mediterranean. For a more solemn proposal, the terrace of a sea-facing palace, reserved for a dinner for two, offers a setting of rare elegance.
A yacht at sunset.
At anchor off Monaco or Saint-Tropez, dinner on deck, then the question, as the sea turns to gold. At sea, no one can draw near or take photographs: it is the ideal backdrop for the most discreet couples. Off Monaco, the Principality lights up in the distance; off Saint-Tropez, the pines of the peninsula and the coves of Ramatuelle.
- 01
The heights of Saint-Paul-de-Vence.
An artists' village, stone alleyways, a terrace overlooking the hills: the romance of Provence just minutes from the sea. At dusk, once the visitors have departed and the ramparts hold the warmth of the sun, the village reclaims its silence.

- 01
A private villa.
For an intimate proposal, with a chef’s dinner, musicians, and a setting crafted for you alone. A candlelit path leading to the pool, a quartet hidden in the garden, a terrace overlooking the bay: an entire house, for a single evening. It is a setting we have already composed in Saint-Tropez, and one we hold a very special memory of.
The right moment
- 01
The hour.
Golden light, roughly an hour before sunset, is often the most beautiful: it softens faces, gilds the sea, and gives photographs an incomparable softness. Sunrise is rarer, but it offers a unique privilege: completely empty settings.
The season.
Spring and early autumn are our favorite seasons. The light is superb, the sea still gentle, and the venues quieter than in the height of summer. In July and August, the coast is more vibrant: private venues, the yacht, and early morning hours then become essential.
The day.
An anniversary of the day you met, a long-planned weekend, a trip: the best day is often the one that comes as no surprise, so that the surprise comes from the rest.
How to plan a secret proposal
- The pretext: a dinner, a trip, an outing at sea. A plausible scenario that reveals nothing.
- Location scouting: we visit the venue at the exact time of the request, to check the light, the wind, the foot traffic, and the precise spot where we will stop.
- The photographer: hidden at a distance, he captures the moment without disturbing it. Some couples add a videographer, to preserve the sound of the voice as well.
- Music: a cellist, a guitarist, or simply a song that matters to you, at just the right moment.
- Plan B: wind, rain, or unexpected crowds. A second venue is always planned, and often a third.
- Permits and authorizations: on a protected site or in a public venue, certain installations require prior approval. We handle it seamlessly.
- The ring: safe until the very last moment, without ever becoming a concern. We can also arrange a discreet appointment with a jeweler, if it has not yet been chosen.
Three scenarios we love
- 01
The island at sunset.
A private boat departs from the Vieux-Port de Cannes in the late afternoon. On Sainte-Marguerite, a cove, two armchairs facing the sea, a glass of champagne. The sun sets over the Esterel. The photographer is on a second boat, in the distance. Upon return, a dinner for two awaits on a terrace on the Croisette.
The yacht and the surprise.
An outing at sea presented as a simple lunch. At anchor off Saint-Tropez, the question, on deck. Then the yacht reaches a private beach, where family and friends wait, hidden, to celebrate together.
The villa and the candles.
A dinner “among friends” in a villa rented for the weekend. As night falls, a path of candles leads to the garden, where a quartet begins to play. No one else is there. The rest of the evening belongs to the two of them.

After the "I do"
The moment that follows matters almost as much as the proposal itself. A dinner for two in a Michelin-starred restaurant, a suite with a view, vintage champagne, or a surprise: family and friends waiting, hidden, to celebrate together. Some couples extend the experience with a few days on the coast, others with an engagement party a few weeks later. And many then entrust us with their wedding.

The first chapter
A marriage proposal is the first chapter of a story we then love to write with you: that of the wedding. It deserves the same care, the same discretion, and the same attention to detail. For we forget many things in a lifetime, but never the instant someone asked you to share it. With all my elegance, Sandrine Arnould — Founder, Luxury Events Agency
