Lapland, where nothing is ordinaryA light gifted by the heavens
There are places on Earth where nature speaks above all else. Lapland is one of them.
An absolute silence. A cold that purifies. A forest of white birches frozen beneath the snow, and above it all, suddenly, the sky begins to dance.
The Northern Lights do not announce their arrival. They simply appear, as if a certainty, a sign dyeing the arctic darkness with deep greens, impossible violets, with that shifting light that resembles nothing else in the known world.
It was beneath this very sky that they chose to exchange their vows.
The ceremony was held in the intimacy of a glacial setting, nestled in the heart of the arctic forest, a place where outside and inside become one, where nature becomes architecture, where cold becomes softness. Around them, the world was white, still, perfectly silent.
Then the sky offered what no decorator could ever have promised.
We had prepared everything. Lapland did the rest.
To choose Lapland for a wedding is to choose the essential. To forgo the superfluous, the ostentatious, all that proclaims itself, for something rarer, truer. A celebration that touches the intimate, the wild, the sublime.
The kind of wedding one speaks of softly. Whose light one keeps within, for a long time.
