The open sea possesses a rare quality: it distils truth.
No more clamour. No more distractions. Only the Mediterranean stretching boundlessly, the silent glide of a yacht's deck, and two souls facing the horizon. Saint-Tropez receded gently behind them — its lights, its fervour, its radiant glow — when suddenly, everything paused.
He had known for a significant time. He merely awaited the perfect setting.
At sea, there is no scope for artifice. No elaborate backdrop to assist, no comforting crowd to reassure. There is only the essential: what is spoken, what is felt, and the gaze of another as the life-altering question is posed.
Between sky and water, she uttered her 'yes'.
Our role, that evening, was to orchestrate the conditions for a flawless moment, then discreetly withdraw. To meticulously prepare every detail in absolute secrecy, ensuring the moment belonged entirely to them. The champagne. The flowers. The light. The precise course. The exact hour of sunset.
